Carl Walter has been designing and manufacturing special tools and special fastening tools for bolting operations according to customer requirements since 1919.

Special demands require special tools. While you continue to concentrate on your day-to-day business, we take care of your individual solution. If you do not have a technical drawing yet, our first step will be to carry out a problem analysis. Subsequently your solution will be constructed by using the latest 3D CAD methods. Thanks to our innovative engineering knowledge, our application of comprehensive manufacturing methods and a complete in-house processing, there is never a customer requirement too special for us.

The design of the special tools is carried out with the latest 3D CAD systems and in close coordination with the customer.

Our high depth of production enables comprehensive production and project handling according to customer requirements.

Factory certification EN 10204

On request, we will be pleased to issue a works certificate according to EN 10204 for the corresponding special tool.

Special tools - Manufacturing examples

Special stud driver

Challenge:
Our customer's requirement was a special screw-in chuck for work on his stud bolts. In order to work as effectively as possible, the tool was to be driven by a cordless screwdriver.

Our solution:
Taking into account the defined length of the studs, we designed a tool with an E11.2 mount as the drive. On the output side, we took into account that the bolt is screwed in to the defined dimension.

Result:
The tool has been supporting the customer for some time now in the bolting work on the studs.

Special wrench for tube nuts

Challenge:
Our customer was faced with the challenge of having to tighten a special castle nut, which was not possible with a standard tool.

Our solution:
We manufactured a raw nut wrench in various sizes to meet the required specifications. A support on the side was also designed for stabilization.

Result:
Thanks to the wrench, the customer's processes could now be optimized to the maximum.

Parallel shaft gearbox

For complicated bolting cases with limited space, we have developed a flat gear for tightening and loosening bolted joints, so that disassembly of the components is no longer necessary. The product can be adapted to the bolting according to customer requirements.

Special flat gear with adapter

Our special flat gear with quick-change adapter is suitable for screw connections that are difficult to reach with a standard tool. The tool is available in various lengths and shapes and can be customized according to customer requirements.

Torque gauge Torquick MD-18

Our Torquick MD-18 torque gauge is especially suitable for closure torques in the beverage and canning industry. The Torquick is both adjustable and automatically releasable. In addition, the special tool is suitable for right-hand and left-hand operation and convinces with its low-wear permanent magnets.

Special cordless screwdriver

To increase the tightening torque of an electric screwdriver, we designed a special power gear and a special support. The product thus convinces with increased power, low weight and ergonomic operation.

Special assembly tool

Our special assembly system has slotted inserts and is especially suitable for cable glands due to the open ratchet system. The special tool is available in wrench sizes 15, 16, 19, 20, 25 and 30 and can be used with a torque wrench.

Special hook wrench

The special articulated hook wrench with pin and joint has a square socket to secure the insert in order to be able to tighten the screw connection with a torque wrench.

Special combination tool

Thanks to the combination tool with E 6.3 machine drive and locking mechanism, tightening is performed without changing tools.

Counterholder for screw connections: Before and after comparison

Customer requirement
The customer's requirement was the development and construction of a counterholder for bolted connections in a chassis. The counterholder was to be supported by the bolt head opposite the bolt head.

Project procedure
Due to the different positions, we designed different versions of the counterholder. It had to be taken into account that the counter-support could be loosened easily and with an adjusting screw.

Special tools for the revision of wind turbine

Customer situation
Regular maintenance is indispensable for wind turbines. Maintenance includes, among other things, the time-consuming replacement of the fastening bolts.

Tool solution
Maintenance can now be carried out more easily thanks to a special loosening device for expansion bolts including electric drive and power gear. The designed special tool makes it possible to reduce the amount of work per bolt from approx. 30 minutes to approx. 5 minutes.

For minimal or extreme effort: We supply torque ranges from 0.1 Nmm to 100,000 Nm.
